Enable Force SSL in your Joomla site<\/h4>

Note:<\/strong> we used Joomla 3 in this tutorial, for Joomla 2.5, it\u2019s the same.\u00a0<\/p>

Step 1: configure your configuration.php file<\/strong><\/p>

Open your\u00a0configuration.php<\/code>\u00a0file<\/p>

Find the following line:<\/p>

var $live_site =”;<\/p>

Replace with:<\/p>

var $live_site = ‘https:\/\/www.your-domain.com’;<\/p>

Next, open\u00a0.htaccess<\/code>\u00a0file then add the following code to the bottom of the file.<\/p>

  1. RewriteEngine On<\/li>
  2. RewriteCond %{HTTPS} OFF<\/li>
  3. RewriteRule (.*) https:\/\/%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI}<\/li><\/ol>

    Step 2: enable Force SSL in your Joomla site<\/strong><\/p>

    In the Admin Panel, navigate through\u00a0System >> Global Configuration<\/strong>\u00a0or simply click the\u00a0Global Configuration<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/p>

    Access Global Configuration in the back-end setting<\/p>

    Within the\u00a0Server<\/strong>\u00a0tab, in the\u00a0Server Settings<\/strong>\u00a0section, there are 3 Force SSL alternatives that you can select, namely:<\/p>
